North Valley Women’s Care specializes in treating a wide range of matters that may arise which involve the woman’s reproductive system. These include pregnancy and childbirth, menstruation and menopause, fertility issues, sexually transmitted infections, hormone imbalances or disorders, and other areas.
Patients can expect a thorough exam upon their first visit which will include an assessment of the patient’s current health and a healthy history, plus any areas that may be risk factors for other gynecological concerns.
What else you can expect during your first visit and follow up visits with your Glendale OBGYN:
A General Physical Exam
We will document your height, weight, and blood pressure will be checked as well as an assessment with any existing health issues you are experiencing
An External Genital Exam
This includes a look on the outside area of the vagina to ensure no infections or anything out of the ordinary
A Pelvic Exam and Pap Smear
These are necessary to ensure that all internal organs feel as they should and that the cells from the inside of the vagina, the cervix to be exact, are healthy. This exam is quick and usually painless, though a little pressure and discomfort may be experienced.
In the exam it is important to discuss any concerns or questions about your menstrual period, your sexual activity and birth control, any pain or discomfort you are feeling in the reproductive system area, pregnancy or plans to become pregnant, symptoms of menopause, concerns with hormones, and any risk factors your primary care or specialist my have discussed with you.
An External Genital Exam
North Valley Women’s Care offers most services in-house for the convenience of our patients and faster, more efficient service, including:
- Blood lab orders
- Free Pregnancy Tests to provide an estimated due date for insurance purposes
- Ultrasounds
- Prenatal classes for expecting parents
- Complete care with high-risk obstetrics
- Co-management with your Phoenix physician care team including our local perinatology group
- We prefer for your care to be local so you can stay within your own neighborhood hospital for surgical care.
